Animal Damage We Remediate
Rodent Infestation
Rodents — mice, rats, and squirrels — access buildings through small openings and cause extensive damage to insulation, wiring, drywall, and stored materials. Their nesting materials, droppings, and urine create health hazards and persistent odours. We remove contaminated materials, sanitize affected areas, and deodorize thoroughly.
Bird Intrusion
Birds nesting in commercial roof spaces, HVAC systems, and attics create accumulations of droppings that damage building materials and present a health risk (Histoplasmosis and other diseases). We clean and sanitize bird-affected areas following all required safety protocols.
Raccoon & Skunk Intrusion
Raccoons and skunks in attic or crawl spaces cause extensive insulation damage and leave fecal matter and urine requiring biohazard-level cleanup. Skunk spray events require advanced deodorization throughout the affected space and HVAC system.
Bat Colonies
Bat colonies roosting in commercial buildings leave accumulations of guano (droppings) that require careful removal in compliance with health and safety regulations. We handle bat guano cleanup with appropriate respiratory protection and full PPE.
Our Animal Damage Remediation Process
Assessment & Wildlife Removal Coordination
We assess the extent of the intrusion and contamination and — if animals are still present — coordinate with a licensed wildlife removal service before remediation begins. We do not handle live animal removal ourselves, but we work seamlessly with removal specialists.
Contaminated Material Removal
Insulation, drywall, stored materials, and other items contaminated by animal waste are carefully removed using appropriate PPE and containment. Materials are disposed of in accordance with applicable health and environmental regulations.
Sanitization & Disinfection
All affected structural surfaces are treated with Health Canada approved disinfectants effective against the range of pathogens associated with animal waste. HEPA vacuuming removes fine particulate contamination from structural surfaces before liquid disinfection is applied.
Deodorization
Persistent animal odours — particularly from urine, skunk spray, or decomposition — require advanced deodorization using thermal fogging, hydroxyl generation, or ozone treatment to eliminate odour compounds at the molecular level. Surface cleaning alone is not sufficient for severe animal odour events.
Restoration
Following sanitization and deodorization, we restore affected areas — replacing insulation, repairing drywall, and restoring the space to a clean, safe, and habitable condition. We coordinate with pest control specialists to ensure exclusion measures are in place before insulation is replaced.
